Fuck. I was hoping for "Far west pacific ocean type of American accent".
When I've travelled overseas and am not quite sure, I've always asked "Are you from Canada?" to be polite - going with the <<better to offend an American than a Canadian rule>>. Commonwealth bonds run deep. Heh.
